Dr. Kaplounov is board certified in Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Internal Medicine.   She completed her fellowship training at St. Luke’s – Roosevelt Hospital and at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City.   Dr. Kaplounov is a member of the American Gastroenterology Association, American College of Gastroenterology and the American Medical Association.

She specializes in diagnosis, treatment and prevention of diseases and disorders of the digestive tract, including acid reflux diseases (GERD), irritable bowel syndrome, inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis), celiac disease and colon cancer.   She also specializes in treatment of chronic liver disease including cirrhosis, chronic hepatitis C and hepatobiliary diseases.   Dr. Kaplounov is trained and experienced in all endoscopic procedures such as colonoscopy, polyp removal and endoscopy (EGD).   She has special experience in biliary endoscopy (ERCP), Capsule endoscopy (Pill Camera of the small intestine), and non-surgical hemorrhoid removal utilizing the CRH O’Regan System.
