Kenneth P. Rubin, M.D.

A graduate of Rutgers University, Dr. Rubin earned his medical degree at the University of Medicine and Dentistry in New Jersey.   In 1972, he was awarded The Mosby Book Award as the top student in basic sciences following his first year of medical school;   at his medical school graduation in 1975, he received The Lang Book Award for the highest performance in internal medicine.

Dr. Rubin’s post-graduate medical training included three years at the Bronx Municipal Hospital Center of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and a fourth-year term as Chief Medical Reisdent.   After a two-year fellowship in gastroenterology at Mt. Sinai Hospital, New York, Dr. Rubin was invited to continue as a full-time faculty member working closely with Dr. Henry Janowitz and Dr. David Sachar in the management of patients with inflammatory bowel disease.

An author of numerous scientific articles and chapters, Dr. Rubin has also been an invited speaker at medical grand rounds at hospitals in New York and New Jersey.  He is a frequent selection on the Best Doctor List of both New York and New Jersey magazines.

Dr. Rubin is currently the Director of the Inflammatory Bowel Disease Center at Englewood Hospital and Medical Center.   He previously served as the medical center’s Chief of Gastroenterology.   He was a president of the New Jersey Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.
A Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at Mt. Sinai, he has continued to be actively involved in the teaching program in the Department of Gastroenterology.    He has served as President of the Medical Staff of Englewood Hospital and was a ten year member of the Board of Trustees.

The New Jersey Chapter of the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America presented CCFA’s 2006 Dr. David Kaufman “Physician of the Year Award” to Dr. Kenneth P. Rubin.  Dr. Rubin was the second recipient of this prestigious award that was established in memory of Dr. Kaufman who died in 2002.  Dr. Rubin has served the CCFA as Chariman of State’s Medical advisory committee as well as active member of the NJ CCFA Board of Trustees.

The Arnold Gold Foundation awarded Dr. Rubin with a Gold Doc Award in 2006 for sensitivity, kindness and compassion in the practice of medicine.
