Richard Chessler MDDr. Richard K. Chessler received his M.D. from the Chicago Medical School in 1969. He completed his Internship and Residency in Internal Medicine and Fellowship in Gastroenterology at the New York Medical College – Flower and Fifth Avenue Hospital in New York City. He is board-certified, as well as a Diplomate in Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine and a Fellow of the American College of Physicians.

Dr. Chessler is a Past Associate Chief and Chief of Endoscopy at Englewood Hospital and Medical Center. He has been elected to the Board of Governors of the American College of Gastroenterology for the State of New Jersey and is on the editorial board of the Journal of Practical Gastroenterology. Dr. Chessler is currently an Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine. Both New Jersey Monthly and U.S. News and World Report have named him a “Top Doc,” as voted by his peers. In addition, he has been recognized by Castle Connolly for the last 11 years as one of the New York Metro Area’s Best Doctors. Dr. Chessler has been in private practice since 1974 and has specialized expertise in disorders of the gallbladder and colon, pancreatic cancer and invasive biliary endoscopy.
